Business Manager/Treasurer
Brother Donald Hunter Sr.
Brother Donald’s life has always been centered around faith, family, and service. He and his wife, Sue Rae, have shared over 28 years of marriage, building a strong foundation rooted in love, commitment, and faith in God. Together they are the proud parents of two sons and the joyful grandparents of one grandson, who brings great pride and happiness to their family. Earlier this year, their family celebrated a special milestone as their youngest son, Donald Jr., married his high school sweetheart—an occasion filled with love, gratitude, and celebration.
Professionally, Brother Donald completed a dedicated 31-year career with the City of Portland in February 2023, including 17 years serving in management. Throughout his career, he demonstrated consistency, leadership, and a strong commitment to serving others. Since retirement, he has embraced this new chapter with gratitude, while continuing to stay active in both ministry and community life.
As the 11th of 13 children—eight boys and five girls—Brother Donald was raised in a home where faith, discipline, and service were a daily way of life. He is the son of the late Pastor Archie Hunter, whose vision and obedience to God helped establish Neighborhood Church of God as a cornerstone in the community. That spiritual legacy continues to shape Brother Donald’s heart for ministry and his dedication to the church.
At Neighborhood Church of God, Brother Donald faithfully serves as Business Manager and Treasurer, helping oversee the stewardship and day-to-day operations that support the ministry. He also stepped into an important spiritual role when First Lady Beverly Hunter entrusted him with leading devotionals, a responsibility he continues to carry with humility and faithfulness.
Outside of ministry, Brother Donald enjoys some of life’s simple pleasures. He is a passionate sports fan who proudly supports the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oregon Ducks, and the Seattle Mariners. He also enjoys coin collecting, writing poetry, and spending quality time with family. Whether serving in church, supporting his loved ones, or enjoying fellowship with others, Brother Donald brings steady faith, wisdom, and a servant’s heart to everything he does.
